Trevor Romain Inspires Teachers at New Jersey Summer Institute

Award winning children’s author and entertainer, Trevor Romain delivered the keynote speech to about 100 people at the New Jersey Summer Institute for teachers and counselors. This Annual summer workshop provides information and inspiration for school staff. The theme of the conference was: “Reaching One Student at a Time: Addressing Social, Emotional, and Cultural Needs”. Trevor Romain was the perfect person to deliver this speech. He wowed the attendees with some of his amazing stories from working with children around the world. As Romain likes to say many times, “We spend so much of our telling kids what we think they need to hear, instead of listening to what they are asking for”.

Trevor Romain Kicks Off Texas SEA Summit Agenda

More than 100 physical education administrators of Texas elementary and secondary schools gathered in South Padre Island, Texas to attend the Texas Secondary and Elementary Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Summit. Conference attendees obtained new information and insights about recent legislation pertaining to physical fitness in Texas schools.
Trevor Romain was the keynote speaker for this event. Romain inspired the participants with a motivational key note address that examined the issues of childhood obesity and the need for physical fitness and a life-long commitment to health. Mr. Romain also spoke to the need for teachers to recognize their own needs for maintaining their health and inspired them to keep students positive about physical education in all of its many forms.

Castle Hill Elementary Welcomes Trevor Romain

Students at Castle Hill Elementary were treated to one fantastic hour of comedy and life skills training by award winning author and entertainer, Trevor Romain. Trevor shared many valuable lessons about bullying, friendship, and compassion. Romain also shared many of his wonderful stories about his travels in Africa. It is hard to keep a group of third, fourth, and fifth grade kids focused for very long but Romain managed to do it. Most kids don’t like to share much information about being bullied or harassed or being left out of groups. However, since Romain has the uncanny ability to speak to kids on their level, students readily share their experience with him.

Trevor Romain Teams Up with The Worlds Greatest Poet at Iles Elementary Writer’s Conference

Award winning author and entertainer, Trevor Romain, along with Tony Haynes, the world’s greatest poet, inspired the kids of Iles Elementary. The kids of Iles Elementary had the time of their life when one of their heroes, Trevor Romain came to their school. For the past year, the students have been watching Trevor, and his animated friends, Jack and Skye. Sherry Frachey, a counselor and teacher at Iles, has been using Trevor’s materials to teach kids valuable life lessons. "The students at Iles absolutely love Trevors movies", said Frachey. "Trevor has an incredible ability to speak to kids about difficult topics with out being preachy, which is terribly difficult to do. And his characters, Jack and Skye, are so realistic and easy for the kids to relate to. Our kids just love them:"

I wanted to let those kids know that we appreciate the sacrifice they are making for our country.”

Trevor Romain Kicks Off National Candlelighters Conference

Award winning author and Entertainer, Trevor Romain, opened the National Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation Annual Conference in Las Vegas. Romain told many stories that inspired the audience about the work that they do with children diagnosed with cancer. Romain, who has worked with cancer kids for about 20 years, recalled many of the children that have inspired him to keep giving back to Candlelighters and the kids that they help. “ If you ever want to meet a room full of sad kids, don’t go to the hospital”, says Romain.” These kids wear a bright smile and live for everyday. We all have a lot to learn from kids battling cancer”.

Trevor Romain Wows Teachers, Parents, and Students at Eagleville Elementary
March 12, 2008 - Eagleville Elementary, Norristown, Pennsylvania
Eagleville Elementary was in for quite a treat when award winning author and entertainer, Trevor Romain, showed up for a complimentary visit. Eagleville was the recipient of a visit from Trevor Romain because of a drawing they won at the American School Counselors Conference last year in Denver. Judy Schmitz, counselor at Eagleville, organized the event. Trevor gave three talks at Eagleville. He greeted the teachers in the morning, spoke to the children during the day, and had a discussion with parents later that evening. It was a terrific day. Trevor inspired the kids a she usually does and the teachers were truly moved as well. Romain told some of his famous stories about bullying, to which all of the children can relate. “I was bullied terribly when I was a child by a boy named Roy”, said Romain. “I use some of my experiences with him to help kids today who are having similar problems. I don’t want any kids to face some of the crazy situations that I had to face as a child.”
